What the Subaru AC Condenser does is cool the high-pressure refrigerant gas coming out of the compressor. The liquid refrigerant as a result of that cooling action is then passed through an expansion valve. This returns the liquid refrigerant back into its gaseous form. This cooled refrigerant is then sent to the evaporator located inside the vehicle.

The cooled refrigerant in the evaporator is what absorbs the heat form the air inside the vehicle until it reaches the point set in the thermostat. By helping cool the refrigerant, the Subaru AC Condenser makes sure that the power sent by the engine to the air-conditioning system will not go to waste.
