2009 will mark the last year that the Honda S2000 will be manufactured by the Japanese carmaker. This roadster has already left a mark in the auto industry and will surely be missed by performance enthusiasts. The first S2000 was offered in 1999 as a 2000 model year roadster and a decade has seen the S2000 attain more and more advanced features to complement its standard ones including the air-conditioning system and the indispensable Honda S2000 AC condenser. The Honda S2000 AC condenser is just like any other AC condenser in the sense that it is designed to get the best out of the flowing cool air inside the engine bay of the vehicle as it speeds along the road. The flowing air is utilized by the AC condenser to cool the hot high-pressure refrigerant coming out of the compressor. The refrigerant condenses into liquid form in the condenser and passes through an expansion valve which cools it further and change it back to gaseous form. This cold refrigerant is then what absorbs the heat from the cabin of the vehicle. By absorbing that unwanted heat from different sources, the AC system lowers the temperature in the roadster's cockpit. The Honda S2000 AC condenser is undoubtedly important which is why it is properly protected. A grille guard could keep it safe from small rocks kicked up from the road which could puncture the condenser. There are certain cases though that the AC condenser can still be damaged. For example, even a slight front-end collision could crush the AC condenser. This is a big problem as you not only need to have your vehicle's front end repaired but also you need to replace the AC condenser. While a damaged AC condenser would force you to replace the unit, there are other cases when it is recommended that you replace the AC condenser. For example, if the S2000 has covered a lot of miles already, the AC condenser and other parts could be ready for preventive maintenance. After all, it is better to invest on replacing an auto part before it has a chance to break down and damage other parts.
