Freon gas is usually used as the refrigerant on these AC systems. The gas absorbs the heat from the inside of the engine to keep the cabin comfortably cool. The refrigerant will then be cooled by the Audi AC condenser so that once it recirculates in the system, it can effectively absorb heat. The AC condenser does this by enlisting the aid of the air passing through the engine bay. The onrushing air cools the refrigerant in the AC condenser which then circulates in the system again.

An Audi AC condenser though is not made to last forever. In fact, no auto part can last forever. There are several reasons which could lead to the AC condenser losing its efficiency to cool the refrigerant. No matter what the reason is though, you should always consider replacing the AC condenser on your Audi if it starts acting up as this might lead to damages to other related parts.
